Summer Riding Camp 2011

It’s that happy time of year again! The time of year when we pack a lunch full of goodies, gather our riding attire, camp clothes, and a bag of carrots, and head out for my daughter’s summer riding camp.  It was so nice to be back at Clechachar Farm for this year’s day camp!  We just LOVE it there!  The peacefulness of this beautiful farm is captivating!  The campers enjoy learning about horses and simply having that plain, old-fashioned fun you have while being on a horse farm.  And on top of all that fun, the highlight of each day still seems to be when they saddle up the horses and head out to the ring for their daily riding lesson.

So like last year, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to share some of the pictures with you!  But before I do, I wanted to again thank the wonderful family at Clechachar Farm.  You guys are AWESOME!… and we are already looking forward to next year’s camp!

Great pictures honey. Catie looks like a “Little Christine”

Another “Princess” in the Family

Well, it’s official!  We have yet another princess in the family!  One of the many tutus in our home was left behind on the floor one day this past week, and our little Phoebe took no hesitation in running over to it, arranging herself smack in the middle, and laying there comfortably (and proudly, I might add).  Now, I thought it was just a freak thing and she would quickly get up and have nothing to do with this girly, pink, very glittery tutu.  But no!  No matter where the tutu was placed on the floor, she’d quickly hurry over to it and lay down in the middle of it.  And even after we physically placed it around her tummy, she still loved it!  So it’s official!  We have another fairy princess in the house and she is a very proud one at that!

And on another note, as you now know, we have finally given this little furry friend a name that she can be proud of.  This past week, after nearly a month of calling her almost every name in the book, we officially named her “Phoebe”.  Our Phoebe is named after Phoebe Phanatic, the mother of the Philadelphia Phillie’s beloved mascot, the Phillie Phanatic!

So without further adieu, here is Princess Phoebe, in her royal tutu!

Cute picture of “Princess” Phoebe. Pink is definitely her color! I notice that she is NOT camera shy (smart kitty)!

Our Furry Addition

We have a new addition to our family!  We adopted our beautiful kitty last week from a local animal rescue, Castaway Critters.  She came with the name Dottie, but we are thinking about picking a new name for her.  She’s such a sweet little girl and has quickly become well-adjusted to her new home.  She spends most of her day playing with her toys (with the help of her new sisters, Catie and Sophie) and following me around the house from room to room.  We LOVE her!  If you are interested in adopting a cat or dog, I highly recommend Castaway Critters!  They are completely dedicated to finding forever homes for their rescue animals and are great to work with!  And the best part (in my opinion) is that most of their animals are in a foster home.  So when you adopt from them, you have somewhat of an idea as to the habits and mannerisms of the pet.  We were lucky to find our little “Dottie” and are so excited to have her here with us.

3 Kiddos and their 4-legged Family Member

I had a session this past Saturday with the most beautiful little children.  And tagging along with them was their “little” four-legged family member.  I had such a wonderful time with you and your mommy and daddy!  Thank you for a fun afternoon!
