My “Spring Special” is Here!

Usually around this time of the year, many of us are just about ready to go bonkers as we patiently (and impatiently) await the first sign of spring.  And since old Punxsutawney Phil (yes, I had to look up the spelling of that one) did in fact see his shadow today, it looks like we will have to wait just a little bit longer for those flowers to bloom and that familiar sound of birds singing.  So, to add a little bit of sunshine to this everlasting winter of ours, I am happy to announce that I am offering a “Super Duper Spring Special”!

Here are the details:

For the month of February only, if you book your March, April or May spring session, you will receive a $50 print credit to be used towards your session!  And to make it even more exciting, I will also throw in a complimentary 8×10 print!  That’s a savings of $80!  But do hurry because sessions are limited.  And remember, this offer ends on February 28th or when spots fill up (whichever comes first)!

Have a happy first week of February!

-Christine

Cold toes and cool news!

Well, now that we’re off to a brand new year, I’ve been working on some great new product offerings for 2010!  So keep tuning into my blog for my exciting news and announcements!  And in the meantime, here are a few pictures of my littlest Chardos.  We’ve been feeling a bit cooped up lately, so we braved the cold last week and headed outdoors to take a few shots… and then quickly headed back indoors to continue our play.  The fresh air is great, even if only for a few minutes.  Have a wonderful week and don’t forget to keep checking back regularly.  I don’t want you to miss anything!  :O)

A Few of My Favorite Things

In an effort to start a new tradition on my blog, I thought it would be fun to do a project that I titled “A Few of My Favorite Things”.   So throughout the year I will be posting pictures of everyday things in my life that I love the most.  Things that inspire me or make me smile or just give me a warm feeling of joy.  So I am beginning with this image of the first of My Favorite Things, an image from this morning’s breakfast.  Now, I know you see  this picture of pancakes, and although “pancakes” could easily be featured by itself as one of my favorite things (more specifically the fabulously, deliciously, mouth-watering Pumpkin-Pecan Pancakes from Williams-Sonoma that have become a regular part of our weekend mornings), it is the “waking up on a cold and cozy winter weekend morning and making a yummy breakfast for my family” part that is without a doubt one of my favorite things.  And after all, who can have little children (and a pancake-loving husband) and not have pancakes for breakfast on the weekends?   So while my 4-year old sous-chef  helps crack the eggs and mix the batter, and the smell of sweet pancakes begins to fill our home, so begins our morning, filled with warmth, love and plain, old-fashioned, family togetherness.  It is this that makes the weekends so special for me and is such a wonderful way to begin a day.  And this is the first of My Favorite Things!

Blessings to you on this magical holiday!

After a day full of cookie baking, gift wrapping and final holiday preparations, I took a break yesterday and turned on the Oprah Winfrey show.  It was her holiday show, which featured some duets from some  fabulous singers.  Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw sang a song together and afterwards talked with Oprah about their favorite holiday traditions and the best gift they have ever received.  And what hit me so hard was hearing Alicia Keys telling Oprah that the most important thing to her at Christmas was getting her entire family in one room together on that special day so that they could spend time together, talk, and just enjoy one another’s company.  And when asked what the best gift was that she had ever received, she said it was “Being Loved”.  Like everyone, it is so easy for me to get caught up in the holiday shopping and party preparations and cooking and baking and… the list goes on and on.  But really, the only thing that really matters is the love we share with our family and our friends.   Our biggest blessing!  And I tried to imagine what Christmas would be like on Christmas morning if no gifts were under the tree, and nothing was baking in the oven, and no Christmas music was playing in the background, and although it would seem very strange, I realized that although those things are wonderful and make Christmastime so warm and exciting, they are not what makes Christmas beautiful to me.  The beauty of my Christmas comes from the love of my family and friends.  And for that, I am forever grateful!

So from our family to yours, we wish you much love on this Christmas day, and a very blessed, safe and peaceful New Year!

What a great picture of your precious “little ones” that I got to meet for the first time in person today. Looking forward spending time with you in Kindermusik classes – Welcome Little Ones!

Me and my snowman!

Well, the wintry weather has finally graced the Central Pennsylvania region! After nearly four years of living here, I had yet to see more than a couple of inches of snow.  For some reason the snow always seems to pass over our home, leaving us with a mere dusting or icy covering of some sort.  And although the snow caused us to postpone our holiday party, I have to say that it is so wonderful to look outside the week before Christmas and see that beautiful blanket of snow, festively covering the wreaths and trees and decorations that line our neighborhood’s streets.  So with that, I attempted to snap a couple pictures of my little ones in the snow (or at least, try to).  Catie, as always, was thrilled to go outside and even built this beautiful snowman!  Sophie on the other hand was less than thrilled.  But really, what is there for a one-year-old to do in the snow other than sit there with a cold bottom.   So here is one of my “little ones” with her snowman.  And what a handsomely dressed snowman he is!   Be safe, and have a wonderful time in the snow today!
