Long hot days, warm water, sand bars, cool breezes… and a fun session on the beach to boot! That pretty much describes our 4th of July at the Jersey shore. Here are some images I took of my own patriotic peanuts, starting off with the “forever entertaining” Catie. 🙂

I am always looking for unique things that inspire me. Last month, we took a trip to New Jersey to visit family, and on the way home we passed this gorgeous old fireplace sitting in the woods alongside the road. We turned the car around and out I jumped! I was mesmerized by this beautiful structure, sitting there proudly and peacefully among the trees and overgrown grass that surrounded it. It looked so lonely, but so charming! Someone had hung a Christmas stocking on the mantle, which seemed to make the fireplace smile in a way.

It’s moments like this that make me so thankful that I brought my camera along that day. I was anxious to share this picture on my blog but couldn’t stand the thought of waiting until the Christmas season. So what I decided to do was to have a “Christmas in July” session special! You’re never too old to be young, and in my daughter’s case, you’re never too young to be old. She’s 3 going on 30, and although she can be a real stinker at times, I completely love every minute I spend with her (even if some of those minutes cause my hair to turn gray and my nerves to fray 🙂 ). She’s the most delightful little thing and she’s so full of sweetness – she’s my Sophie!

One of the things I love most about my job is all the wonderful families that I have the honor of meeting. And this was no exception. I love this family! We spent some time together on Saturday night and they were such a delightful bunch to photograph. So kind and friendly, interesting and fun – that pretty much sums them up! And I thought it was so sweet when they asked me to take this first photo. Mom, Dad, and both boys fell right into place! SO CUTE! So here they are… the “Y” family! Thank you all for a great evening together. I bow to you! 🙂
